Old bio rewind:

In what now seems like a past life, I was an elite athlete, competing around the world as a member of the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team. It was an awesome life.

I'd always loved to write, though, and while skiing and traveling, snagged my own column in Rhode Island's Newport Daily News. Once I had my BA in English from Middlebury College, I hung up my skis and moved to New York, to launch my career as a magazine editor and writer.

Fast forward: I've worked as an in-house editor at several national magazines, such as Allure, Organic Style and Natural Health, and was one of the founding editors of Women's Health, where I remained as a senior editor for three years. I also held editorial positions at Salt Lake magazine, and Ski Racing, where I was the editor in chief. A true lifestyle journalist, I've covered everything from a turtle safari in Lesotho to Cam Newton’s nutrition plan, heli-skiing in BC to a rousing (read: mountain-rattling) Willie Nelson concert. Generally speaking, I often write about people, places and things (gear), as well as the latest in health and fitness. Adventure is my thing—but I find it in all ways. And somehow, there's always a way to put it into words.

~ Fast forward again:

I’ve made videos, ads, and have edited books. (I also like making them, Italian long-stitch style.) And I teach yoga, for an added twist.
